When you first visit Flare, a banner asks you to Accept, Decline, or open "Manage preferences" to choose. We keep it to two categories.
Required for the site to work, such as keeping you signed in. Always on — there's no consent toggle for these because the site can't function without them.
With your consent, we set two first-party cookies — flare_did (an anonymous device id) and flare_uid (set once you identify yourself, e.g. by signing up) — so we can see how Flare is used. Scoped to .flare.co and shared between flare.co and app.flare.co so the same person isn't counted twice. No cross-site tracking, no advertising. Default expiry: 2 years. Off until you say otherwise.
Your choice is remembered on this device. Clearing your browser's cookies and site data for flare.co resets it, and the preferences banner will appear again next visit.
