Community Guidelines
Last updated: January 2026
Welcome to Flare
Flare is a community dedicated to building trust through verified claims and expert knowledge. These guidelines help us maintain a productive, respectful environment for everyone.
Core Principles
Truth-Seeking: We're here to find and verify truth, not to win arguments. Be open to changing your mind.
Good Faith: Assume others are here to contribute constructively. Engage with ideas, not personalities.
Evidence-Based: Support your claims with credible sources. Be transparent about uncertainty.
Constructive Engagement
- Focus on the quality of arguments, not the person making them
- Acknowledge valid points, even when you disagree on the whole
- Ask clarifying questions before assuming bad intent
- Cite sources and explain your reasoning
- Be willing to say "I don't know" or "I was wrong"
What We Don't Allow
- Personal attacks or harassment
- Deliberately misleading information
- Bad-faith argumentation or trolling
- Spam or self-promotion without value
- Discrimination or hate speech
Expert Contributors
If you have domain expertise, we encourage you to contribute. Be transparent about your qualifications, disclose any conflicts of interest, and help others understand complex topics.
